T is for Truth.
Unspoken, unwritten, omitted, betrayed, truth.
Truth against the lies we tell ourselves: the lies that we think will make us sleep at night, but are the ones that give us nightmares.
Truth against the lies we tell ourselves: because we cannot believe we have been betrayed by someone close to us and we rather close our eyes, our ears, our hearts and ignore the truth in front of us, the writing on the wall.
But the truth is there, standing still, waiting for us to be ready to accept it, to welcome it, to even love it, eventually.
How many hearts have been broken by the truth? How many souls have been damned by the truth? And still, for a heart to mend, for a soul to redeem itself, truth is necessary.
Because, without it, without the truth, for how sad, how devastating, how hurtful, it can be, without it, there is no forgiving ourselves.
Because, without it, without the truth, for how many tears we cry over it, for how many sleepless nights we spend staring at the ceiling because of it, for how many pieces our soul is shattered by it, without it, there cannot be freedom.
